That is a very broad question and I can simply answer, "yes".

What type of data are you trying to clean? What type of cleaning are you looking for?

I was just asking as it now i donot have to use them in any application .As i read some where that there are data cleaning functions in qlikview so

i thought i should ask.....Can you people give me some details about data cleaning functions.Why these fuctions are use?Where they are located in QlikView?

Any example will be helpful..

Trim() is a "data cleaning" function.

What kind of data cleansing function are you looking for....?

Of course there are some functions

1. trim(), rtrim(), ltrim() - to remove spaces in ur fields..

2. capitalize(), lower(), upper() - to convert all characters respectively.

3. mid(), subfield().... for respective operations..........

to name a few...

u can get a complete list of all functions in the qlikview help....

Kindly note that these functions can be used within qlikview. as must be aware qlikview can only read data from the database and not modify/alter anything.

Data has to be loaded in qlikview first, and then appropriate functions can be used within qlikview anc saved in a qvd format.....

this qvd in turn can be used within qlikview ONLY........
