Data association core design

Hi all,

Do you know if there has been any change in the way Qlikview data association works from version 8.5 onwards?

I have just realized that in QV10/11 when you make a selection on Field A and then try to make another selection on an excluded value on Field B, it doesn't let you until you clear Field A.

I have tested this on v8.5 and it accepts the selection on Field B and automatically changes the possible values of Field A.

Any thoughts?

Two thoughts come to mind:

Your list box that you are selecting from is marked "Always one selected" so you aren't allowed to have no value selected

You have done something that LOCKED the selection so you aren't allowed to simply pick something that would have excluded it

I can't reproduce this with standard settings in QV11. I can select values in a field as I want, even excluded ones, affecting other field's state if needed.

Can you upload a small sample that demonstrates this issue in QV11?

None of those 2 fields are "Always one selected" but there are others in the data model that are.

There aren't any locked fields.

If I create a new doc with a simple inline it works fine so it might have to do with my data model.

In any case, why does the same document work as expected on Qlikview 8.5 and not on 10?

Surely there must be something going on here.
