Distribution Failed

Hi All,

I have scheduled a task based on 'another event'.

I have two files: file1.qvw and file2.qvw

file1.qvw is schedule on EDX, that's running fine.

After completion of file1.qvw, file2.qvw is also running file.

But I wanted to distribute this file2.qvw in a shared folder. Till today it was running fine.

File2.qvw is reloaded and closed, just it's not distributed on shared path.

Any ideaes are well welcomed. . .

You are right. The document is there in disk, but it's not there on shared path which is my access point path

thanks for the reply, have you taken a look at the tasklog?

Since the other 23 applications are working and get distributed accordingly, the logfile should tell us something.

on the QMC, do you get the message that the task has failed?

Is the Distribute location properly mounted/mentioned in the Dsitribute tab for the particular task?

Could you please share the task logs for the failed task?

Yes, this is the correct log file with no errors, showing that Distribution happened successfully.

But did you managed to get the log files post 3rd Jan?

Select the failed task. Go to Show Task Details. Click on Log tab and select the latest timestamp to fetch the latest log. That must be containing some kewwords as ERROR.

If Log Files are not generated, try to remove the task, restart the QV services again (mainly QDS), create a new task again and see the results!

it is very odd that the logs are not created anymore. could you please activate the document log on the document, just to see if the QDS (QlikView Distribution Service) will create a document log, at least this should be place in the same folder as the document itself.

do you see that there are logfiles for the other documents? are the logs in the default folder?

Please verify as well the permissions on the shared folder and its parent folders.

could you run a test by distributing either directly to the QlikView Server root folder or the same destination as the other 23 applications or to a folder on C: drive?

Object reference not set to an instance of an object  is indicating the unavailability of the folder, two things, either no access or the shared disk is down.
