Document Chaining to land on same sheet

Hi All,

I have two apps App1 and App2(Similar sheets and structure)

Both are having same no of sheets SH1, SH2,SH3, now if i'm in App1 and SH1 when i click on my button to go to other dashboard it does not work it goes to the dashboard where its last saved.

e.g. I'm in App2 and SH2 and saved my dashboard so whenever i open app2 it will open up with that SH2(as when i saved the dashboard it was at SH2), same is happening in document chaining as well from App1 SH1 when i'm opening App2 it is opening SH2 whereas it should open SH1.

My req is no matter how dashboard is saved (on SH1 or SH2) it should always opens up according to my Document chaining.

App2 SH1-----> should open App1 SH1

App2 SH2-----> should open App1 SH2

App2 SH2-----> should open App1 SH2

and vice verse

I think you will need a dynamic url to open the other application, see: AJAX and URL parameters.

Hi Amit,

In the button action please check the , transfer the state option and in the URL you should pass the active sheet id

Hi Marcus,

I have three ENV i can not hard code one URL(I'm looking for some way to make it dynamic)

2nd with that url I have to do &sheetID=XYZ so will that pass my other filter as well to the new document.

e.g. I have selected country(From Filters) USA in my sheet 2 of APP1 and when I pass that URL the content will be like  URL+&sheetID=02 when it will land to sheet 2 of APP2 will it bring the filter(USA) as well there?

Yes, Amit. Check on the transfer state option it will do

Such a url could be dynamic - you could use getactivesheet() to read the active sheet.

Thanks Avinash,

One last doubt.

How to supress "OnOpen" triggers of the second document.

e.g.

the other document which I'm trying to open form first Qlikview documnet has Some triggers for "OnOpen" event.

These triggers includes: defaul selections, default sheet etc.,

but when I apply document chaining (when i open the other Qlikview documnet form first)  these "OnOpen" triggers

should be bypass by the selections specififed in the URL of document chaining.

And when the second documnt if opened directly, the "OnOpen" triggers should work

will passing the URL cover above scenario.

One more thing Avinash,

I'm not seeing transfer state option in , i'm seeing only Open in same window option, whereas in Open Qlikview Document has that option but I can not pass the URL into that, if I have to pass the URL it should be Open URL action.Capture.PNG
