Document Timeout option

Hi,

What is the benefit of document timeout in QMC? Does it release the RAM assigned to a qlikview document when the document is not in use for a particular period?

Thanks

Also, I am seeing two contradictory statements that Qlikview will not release the memory until the cache is refreshed also Document timeout will free up the resources. So I am confused with this two statements

When the Document Timeout expires the RAM used to hold the QVW data may be released -- the document is "unloaded".  Cache utilization generated from activity with this document are not removed.

Thanks Rob.

I have another question.

I have a table box which is in minimized state. On document open, how this table will be put in to cache?in minimized state or maximized state?

Also, does every object will be stored in cache? example straight table, table box etc?

rwunderlich

The Cache stores expressions results, not the charts themselves. Excellent explanation of the caching mechnasim here: The QlikView Cache

Minimized objects are not calculated until they are restored.  So if an object is minimized during document open, it should not be calculated.
