Document chaining and Reduce data - can you

Is there a way to use the action 'Open QlikView Document' to open a another QVW file,

Transfer state and ALSO reduce data to the possible values based on the selection?

I wish to breakdown a huge dashboard into two separate ones because the original dashboard is so big that it lags too much.

I wish to have a higher level dashboard only showing aggregated data. I know document chaining can preserve the user's selection of fields and open a second document with the same field names.

Is it possible to open the second document but reduce the data to show only the possible values associated with the user's selections?

Hi,

Yes, you can do it as long as the chained document uses section access to reduce the information. So the first, executive dashboard has very aggregated information, then you click on a button, that opens a new QlikView application and depending on i. e. your NTNAME you only see the information that corresponds to that NTNAME.

Note that document chaining varies from IE Plugin, that uses always credentials of current user to Ajax that uses credentials of authenticated user.

Hope that helps.
