Does Before and After function only work with Horizontal Pivot Tables?

Hi all,

Does Before and After function only work with Horizontal Pivot Tables?

In the above example you can see the Before function for Sales in red colour working, but as soon as I pivot the table it stops working in the copy of the table below it.

Is this the case?
