I am testing Dynamic Bookmark in the qlikview demo page, document: Retail Omni-Channel Analytics
and it does not work.
I select in Year list box by search: =Rank(Year)=1
and I created a bookmark:
When I applied the bookmark it does not do a dynamic selection, it apply 2014 even if I have 2013 selected.
What is wrong with that?
Thanks
Thank you Damian for preserving knowledge that was nearly lost. This worked on Qv 11.2 (and wondering if there was ever a time that putting the search-expression into a field, and then saving bookmark kept the dynamic aspect? For now the issue appears the dynamic expression gets converted to a static value when saving the bookmark, and the "dynamic" behavior can only be reinstated by manually editing the XML to place the expression inside the proper tags)
But once the expression in inside the proper tags in the bookmark, the edit has the intended effect.
Hi Damian,
Thanks for you answer, that works, but if I have more than 2 values in one field want to be selected, do you have any ideas to do that?
Because I tried to use '(' & concat.... & ')', it doesn't work.
Thanks.

Hi Chris,
According to your answer, I created my dynamic bookmark, but if I have more than 1 values want to select in one field, how to do that?
Thanks.

Hi Evan, when you say proper tags, what does it exactly mean?
Thanks,

Abhinava, Edits made inside the proper XML tags.

There's a lot of "Did it" or "Didn't it" murkiness in terms of this feature's history. It seems to have some version # specificity.
All I can attest from personal experience, is that I had a client who was exhaustive about testing (in a good way), and documented dynamic bookmarks as a tested feature across one of our major applications. This worked for us for over a year. (and the technique that was used at that time was entering a dynamic expression into search and saving the bookmark. We exported the bookmarks to XML several times to verify what was encapsulating in the <> </> tags. Any editing XML that i attempted was a separate "fix" that came later, tried at other clients)
For subsequent clients, I haven't been able to observe the same functionality, so I'm not sure what changes in the equation (is it versioning? Did the clients ever add a little nudge of their own? There were times when QV release numbers were client specific & customized)
Could you kindly show me an example? which particular tag to edit?
Thanks,
Abhinava
