Don't want "Number" to be converted into date

i have one column in excel file which is having number but when i i brought in qlikview it get converted into date

i don't want this

Use num() function like:

Load num(DateFromExcel) as NumericDate

sorry I cannot really help here. I also used the num() fct. like tresesco has proposed.

I actually just wanted to add that I have had this problem several times - even more, I have some Excel tables which have a date and one or two rows of figures below (usually a target_value and an is_value) - when I load it into QlikView, the date usually gets converted to a numeric with six decimal places and the figures get converted to a date...
