Just a quick post to mention a problem I had and the resolution. I am using the SBE edition of Qlikview and a simple set up. Suddenly the Qlikview Distribution Service failed (one night, only loading QlikView Ops Monitor v10). I got an error in the windows event log thus:
"Startup failure. Read the log file and/or event log for determinating the cause of this problem. Note! The service must have sufficient permissions in Publisher Application Data Folder: "C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService". Exception=System.Exception: Could not start: CouldNotStartQVB
at QDSMain.MainClass.Run()"
For some reason, I was not using the latest GA version of the server. If you get this problem - QV support sorted it for me by directing me to the latest version. The upgrade resolved the issue (Current version refered to is 11.20.11718.0).
