Hi Expert
I have license in qlikview, but anytime I want to save any qvw that i did not create,i have the same error (attached) and i have to save using a diferent name, its looks like the file is in use or someting else, but i am the only user
what could by or you recommend me?
Thanks a lot
Fernando K.
This is due to windows security.
When i start QlikView desktop i always use an option "run as administrator" in order to have privileges to save and overwrite files. Then it works for me.

Verify if you have write access on the location where you are saving the file
My Assumption, file may be corrupted. If you have Back up or any other Disk Drive use that or else there is no way to recover which is corrupted files.
P.S: FYI, Always i would high recommend you to take back up either your files nor.
yeah, access may be granted to the whole group, but not always group policy works/inherits given credentials. You may add dedicated user separatley to folder security providing with read/write & modify access (which is basicly "Full control" type.)

That message is indeed due to a lock held by another process. Before you open the file close all instances of QV and check Task Manager for an existing qv.exe qvb.exe process. If any remain, then it looks like an orphaned process may be running. You can kill the orphaned process from Task manager. A qvb.exe instance would be created by Publisher/Server and you can check QMC for running processes (assuming you .have Publisher and/or Server installed).
Hi Lech!
Thanks for the solution, works OK
