Hi everyone, as is written in the subject, I need to estimate how much ram memory will need to run efficiently my Qv application.
Actually, I hace an average of 2 million of rows per month and might grow 20% for each of the months incoming until the end of the year. And that's one table only (the main one tought).
According to the mentioned, wich are the the minimum requierements for a computer to handle all of this information?
Number of rows is a start, but it's not enough to determine the memory needs.
How big are you rows going to be? What's the share of distinct values vs. the duplicate values? What kinds of calculations are you planning to perform? These and many other questions will determine your actual memory requirement.
The good news is that 2 million rows *should* comfortably fit into any current laptop (4 GB of RAM), unless you have lots of fields and lots of distinct values.
Once you have your QVW developed, you can estimate the actual size on the server by saving your document with no compression and adding approx. 10% for each concurrent user.
