I have an excel spreadsheet with a sales amount column.
When I however run this through qv and sum the sales amount I get a different total as to what is shown if I sum in Excel.
Is there anything that may explain this discrepancy ?
Please share some sample data.
Hi,
Please share the data file
Myself faced similar kind of problem when I load data directly from DB in qlikview the sum(Sales)=56475.6547587, but when I load it indirectly via QVD it shows 56475.6547642, there is some deviation after decimals. Need some advice from experts
Did you check
Are you sure you have correct total in Excel ? Excel may give you wrong count sometimes. Please see below screen print..
Since, few numbers in excel are not correctly formatted as number, the total of excel does not match with the total of Qlikview. Excel is ignoring 3,6,7 whereas Qlikview is intelligently changing them to correct format before doing calculation.
However there are other possibilities as well, which can make your excel not talking to QV.
Thank you for all the responses.
I basically copied the contents of my sheet into a fresh sheet and this solved this issue.
Fyi QV was showing a lower sum than the excel total.
Talking about other reasons. It may be possible that you have some filters applied in QV or you have used If statement or set analysis but those are missing in excel or vice-versa.
Glad your problem resolved, might be your Automatic Calculation would have disabled in your excel.
