Export The Caption into excel from Straight / Pivot Table

Hi All,

I have straight tables/Pivot tables with the option of Send To Excel. However the send to excel does not include the Caption once the table is exported to the excel. I would need the Caption in the excel as well.

Can any one  please help?

Regards

Hi Chanty,

Thanks for the reply.

Would you be able to explain in a bit more detail please? I have gone through the above solution. What I was able to do is open my app from my desktop , do a ctrl +m to write the  macro and then for the straight table I was doing it , the data got exported with the caption.

However, the same needs to happen from the Access Point. When the user will export the report from the access point, the exel should be exported with the caption. Also I am not sure whether this needs to be done on individual tables as well or not.

Hope I have clarified what I need.

Many Thanks

Regards

Ankhi

Best I can offer is the Help Doc, which provides the following regarding User Preferences for exports.  For Ajax Clients, the setting would need to be added to the QVServer Settings.ini file, and would apply to all users, they would not be able to set things individually...

That being said, I am not sure any of those settings are going to do what you want here, so the macro is an option, but with Ajax all macros run server-side, so that too may become an issue as if the API call is a client-side call, it will not run correctly on the server etc.

Other options would be to consider using the Report Editor to create a report where you can place the Caption in the Report, or NPrinting may be another way to go.  Here is Help link to Report Editor:
