Dear I got a pivot table
one of the dimensions is a date field (date datatype)
in the definition we put: date([Transaction Date],'$(DateFormat)')
Now when we export this table to excel the Transactin date is exported as text
is this a bug?
Check whether you have excel installed on the server.
Come on! I said WHEN WE EXPORT IT TO EXCEL i.e. we are getting the excel sheet but the date values are text
Hello ,
In the properties goto-->Number tab select the date field and check the format settings to date...
hope this helps
Thanks,
Sandeep.
it is not a problem of display in QlikView it is a problem of export to excel
IN EXCEL THE DATE COLUMN IS EXPORTED AS TEXT
IN QLIKVIEW EVERYTHING IS FINE
Hi,
Try copy full Table option. Then paste it on an excel file.
Still if you face the same issue then go to properties of the pivot table -> Number->Select the particular field which comes in text->select date and give required format.
Thanks & Regards

the date field is in the dimensions it doesn't appear in the Number tab
I already mentioned that I used date([Transaction Date],'$(DateFormat)')
Yes if I copy the whole table and paste it in excel it works fine the field transaction date is exported as date Thank you for your help
but why it doesn't work when Exporting to Excel?!!
Try this in the script:
Date(your field,'DD/MM/YYYY') as My date;
Use My date field in the pivot table and try exporting.
