Field order changes in straight table

Hi,

Below shown is the default view of my straight table. Dim 10 & 11 are conditionally enabled where it populates when a field [block] =P. And it's been replaced by Dim 12 & 13 when someone selects [block]=E.  (highlighted red)

Dim1

Dim2…....

Dim10

Dim11

Dim14

Dim 15

Dim16

Exp1

Exp2

Dim 17

Dim18

Now user wants to see all the dimensions 10,11,12 & 13 when he/she selects both P&E. But then the dimensions from the left of expresion 14,15,16 are moving to the right as shown below

Dim1Dim2Di…....Dim10Dim11Dim12Dim13Exp1Exp2Dim14Dim15Dim16Dim17Dim18

I tried unchecking all the fields that are hidden and then arrange, but still the order of fields keep changing if I select both P&E. Like its not allowing to include more dimensions in between. Can anyone please help me if they have encountered any issues like this.

Thanks in advance,

Neetha

In these situations it is best if you can attach a sample application/QVW file, so folks can dig into things, as it is always a bit dicey throwing out ideas without much in the way of actual details, so that is likely why you have not received comments, just FYI.

That being said, about the best I can do here is provide the Help link on Straight Table, so you can verify the how things should be working to confirm if things are not working per the documentation...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2019/Subsystems/Client/Content/QV_QlikView/Straight_Table....

My suggestion though would likely be to maybe recreate the chart again and leave out the conditional stuff for starters to get it the way you want it, then add in the conditions and see if that gets things to stay where you want them at that point.  I suspect this is just something to do with how you set things up as you went along...  Hopefully this helps, my post will kick things back up, so someone else may chime in as well with other ideas.

Found a Design Blog post that may be of interest too:
