Formatting number into Millions

Hi all,

I am working on a Qlikview app at the minute and I am getting confused by the number formatting, I want to make a number e.g. 5369852356 to say 53.7million. I have been playing with Format Patterns but it doesn't ever seem to look correct e.g. comma's in wrong place or not cutting down the number. Any sugguestions? I know it's possible I just can't create the format pattern.

Thanks 🙂

Hi barhopper146

Well for a start 5369852356 is more than 53.7 million... Wink

What I would do to show that value in millions with one decimal is.

1. divide with 1000000

2. set the number format, fixed to 1 decimal

hth

have a nice weekend!

Hi community,

I'm trying to encapsulate the division by 1000000 in a formatting function that I can "call" in a KPI object.

For instance: in the front-end, I want to show the number 21,784,123€ as 21.8 M€. I have the mask to show the M€ sign, but how can I perform the division in the script and use it in the chart object as Num(SUM(#Sales),vFormatEURMillion) ?

Thanks in advance,

Lisa
