From Newbee: Why doesn't this work? SUM ( { $ < Year = { $(=MAX(YEAR)-1)}, RITYPE = {1} >} JAN )

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could be so kind, and explain to me why this one doesn't work
(Gives the same answer as the second line):

SUM ( { $ < Year = { $(=MAX(YEAR)-1)}, RITYPE = {1} >} JAN )

This one works:

SUM ( { $ < Year = { $(=MAX(YEAR))}, RITYPE = {1} >} JAN )

The only differense is YEAR-1.

(To clarify, when I take out the RITYPE it also works, even with the YEAR-1:

SUM ( { $ < Year = { $(=MAX(YEAR)-1)} >} JAN )

I just dont get it..

Anyone, please?

Try SUM ( { $ < Year = { $(=(MAX(YEAR)-1))}, RITYPE = {1} >} JAN )

I have seen expressions that require the extra brackets where you are offsetting the year.

Kind Regards
