Hi,
I've been testing the new version of QlikView 9.00.7230.7 (x64) Personal Ed. on Windows 7 (64bit) and discovered an possible error in the Grid Chart (Pie style):
If you open the enclosed QV application you can notice the following unexpected behaviour:
1. When mouse pointer is moved over the pie the pop-up label is shown - no matter on which area of the pie you are pointing to the message is always the same referring to the same dimension value - in my opinion it should show different values and its expressions depending on the area if the pie the mouse points to.
2. When you chose one dimension value and this dimension is shown on the grid chart the colour/pattern used on the pie according to the legend is not the one that was chosen
3. I also noticed an error, that the legend sometimes shows wrong colours. When you place mouse pointer over the pie area it starts pulsing but the colour pointed on the legend is not the one that mouse points to. This happen unexpectedly, and I can't give the exact way to reproduce this.
Have you noticed the same strange behaviour?
Best Regards,
Sebastian
Hi,
GRID CHARTS (PIE STYLE) DO NOT WORK PROPERLY IN QLIKVIEW!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEM, YOU MAY GET WRONG RESULTS ON DISPLAY!
The problem you may encounter are:
- Legend that display different color / patterns than used on the grid
- a Pie on a grid may look like 50% to 50% percent but in the data you thave e.g. 40% 60% (checked and compared to pivot table displaying the same data)
- Pop-up message are wrong pointng to different dimension that it is displayed
- With mouse over a particular are, wrong legend element is marked
- The results may differ when you switch from colors to patterns displayed on the screen
- This is not happening always, so it is hard to product (this is scare as you may thing everything is OK then you change something like change from color to pattern display on screen) and it is no more correct o_O
The version I am using was
9.00.7230.7 (x64) Personal Ed. on Windows 7 (64bit)
this still exist in 9.00.7436.0408 (x64) Personal Ed.
I have send this to the support team, but since the version I am using is Personal Edition they wont fix it in the nearest future.
I hope other types of charts do not have such problems.
Regards,
Sebastian
