Group field values to display in Multi Box

I would like to group my field values in a group to be displayed in the Multi Box selection. E.g.

Payments Made displayed above has values listed individually. I want them to be group something like this... 0, 2-4,5-7, 8-12, 13-17, 18-24, 25-36 etc.

How can I achieve this?

one way is to create a new field say PaymentBuckets then add the PaymentBucket field into your multibox instead of Payments
