1. If you are a database person, then its easy to learn qlikview.
2. It will take exactly one week to learn the basics.
3. Noone is excellent in qlikview, everything comes through experience..
4. Know more about ETL and data warehousing techniques.
5. try to build small data models, understand how the fields are related to each other, try to eliminate null values,
6. learn calendar functions like, date, date#, year, quarter, week, monthstart, monthend, ... there are plenty...
7. Learn the architecture of Qlik and how it works internally (In memory)
8. compare qlik with other bi tools, learn its adv and disadv..
If you put in one month completely into training yourself in qlikview, you can start building your own dashboard.
