Hi,
Our client would like to build a forecasting tool using qlikview to do what-if-analysis on the product promotional effects.
There are in total more than 6500 input variables they would like to use.
Is there a limitation in the number of variables we can create in one qlikivew application?
Thanks a lot.
Peihao
Hi Peihao - seeing that QlikView is an in-memory analysis tool - my logic would lead me to believe that with enough memory (and processing power) - you can get a long way. That all depends on your customer's deployment strategy. Are they developing a product being used individually by their customers or are they developing a product that they themselves are going to be using. (Meaning that IF you need hardcore processing power and heaps of memory - will the solution be viable). What I would do anyway - is look if you can "rent" a virtual machine and do your testing (i.e. Amazon Cloud or whatever).
Thanks Ian, we are trying to build the qlikview application for the customer and the application will sits on our server for them to use. Is there any way we can set the input variables using the loop function?
If by input variables you mean using inputtext - I doubt it - although I could be wrong.
