I have 2 types of data (in excel they are Raw data and signals) I have attached small samples so you can get a feel for its format.
I have also attached my .qvw so you can see what ive done.
the plan is to have a horizontal staked bar chart to represent the raw data. I want to the shading to represent the speed travelled and for this reason the value of each bar is 1 and my expression is in the colour bit. this is all good and works.
if you look at my chart you will 5 dimensions with no bar. this is becuase they represent signals. this is where i get stuck, the raw data has 1 value for each address every minute, very regular and easy, this isnt the case for signals, simply their is one entry when it switches on and one when it switches off, what im after is indicating what time they come on and how long theyre on for, i will then use colour to indicate what signal theyre showing.
my plan for achieving this is in the script convert the time into a row number, as their is one row per 1 minute in the raw data. this is called the switch on, this switch on can be used as an offset that i make transparent ( or white) then the duration field can be used as the value.
im pretty sure that will make no sense but please have a quick look and see if you can suss it our becuase its driving me nuts.
