Histogram with Upper and Lower Spec Limit lines

Hi All,

I believe some of you may be having similar challenges when dealing with Histogram in Qlikview.

I have managed to create a histogram after applying bucketing technique using =class(variable, constant). However, another challenges that encountered was that, how can I display my limit line in vertical mode. Meaning to say that, in histogram each of the bars are displayed under a range for example: 0.2<=x<=0.5, 0.5<=x<=0.8, ...

*** But limit line is a constant value, it could be existed in between of the range, for example: say 0.4

Would appreciate if you can kindly provide some advice. I have attached a simple qvw file with my histogram version, but failed to add the limit lines.

PS: Another observation that I am seeing  that, when I tried to add a reference line, it doesn't allow me to specify if they are belonged to X or Y axis. since X axis option was disabled.

What is your Limit Line Value in this Case?

the limit value will be corresponding to the selected country, rather than a fix constant.

I have a table called limit table as you can see from the qvw.

Hi Manish,

I think the problem here is the value of limit line, rather than...it is on the technique to display the limit line vertically, since it is histogram but not normal spc chart.

Hi

You can only display vertical reference lines if you select the continuous axis option on he Axes tab. I have added them on the attached. The only problem is that the legend on the continuous x axis is now numerical, rather than text.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks. I noticed that, the continuous axis option was disabled on my client. Anyway, can you attached the qvw for my reference? i don't see that from your post.

Hi Jonathan,

thanks, it is correct. Do you know that, is there any setting that I have turned on, but on my client, the option of 'Continuous X' under Reference lines is disabled. However, when I opened your qvw, it was enabled.

Anything that I missed here on my system setup?

Hi All and Jonathan,

Maybe Jonathan already know. but I thought it will be useful to share with everyone who has the same issues here.

In order to enable option 'Continuous X axis' under Reference line, you need to enabled option 'Continuous' first under a tab called 'Axes' and go to Dimension Axis, turn on Continuous option.

if you do this, you will be able to display vertical reference line for histogram.

Jonathan, thanks for your sample.
