How can I count a doc number?

Apologies for any protocol error, this is my first post.

I have a list of document numbers and users, and I want to show the number of documents per user.

I have made a pivot table with users and COUNT(Document Number)

But I have hit a stumbling block, many of the document numbers count as more than one, some of them have hundreds of occurences because of the number of lines in the document.

Is there an easy way to count each document number only once?

try COUNT(DISTINCT Document Number)
