How can a user set his 'User Settings'

Hi all,

I'd like to give the user the ability to hide or display certain columns of a table.

In the 2nd step I would like to save his selection as a 'User Settings' and provide

this with the next load of the application.

Is this possible? And how does it look for a server application?

A simple approach is to save the settings in bookmark.
