How to Get the Value from URL

Example :

http://www.fedex.com/Tracking?cntry_code=us&link=4

I have to call the fedex URL and get the value 4 out of the URL using Macro.

I have to get and pass the value 4 to selection in the qvw and display some sheet in the QV Portal.

Value 4 will not be same all the time.QV Portal what we have is not Ajax supported environment .
