How to activate/show an object, when we select the dimension in Bar/Pie chart

Hi all

Here is the requirement. Whenever  I click on a dimension in Bar/Pie chart, another sheet object might be Pivot table/Tablebox  should be populated. This should be dynamic.

Actually,  I am showcasing summary information in bar/pie chart. Whenever I click on the chart I have to populate the detailed inforamtion in table(Pivot/Straight/General Table) format....

There is no action tab in BAR/PIE chart. May be some MACRO can help you.

Have a look at the attached qvw.

• When nothing is selected you should see a Bar Chart.
• If you click on any of the bars to select that dimension value, then it selects it and displays that dimension details in Straight Table.
• Clicking & selecting a Dim2 dimension drills down to a Thermometer Gauge
• But Clicking & selecting a Dim3 dimension drills down to a Speedometer Gauge.

I reckon this pretty much demonstrates a solution to your question, for your needs you can use whatever combination of Chart Types you wish.

Thanks Bill.. it is working but with some constraints...

Suppose I have a List box with the same dimension in bar chart as well. If I click on any of these (List box/Bar chart), then the other chart will appeares. But my requirement is whenever I click on the barchart then only other chart shoud appears. I hope you got the requirement.

I tried with the alternate states also. But it is segregasting the objects with the rest in the document.

I have given you a working sample solution.  For your ongoing additional questions would you be able to get as far you can on your own using my sample qvw and then if you come across any specific issues post them in a new thread along with the sample qvw showing how far you have got and explaining what does not work for you.
