Hello - relatively new to QV. I'm trying to figure out how to calculate a growth metric (% growth from prior year for example) for selected fields within qv. I created a couple simple charts (attached) from an excel data source, where the data from excel is organized as follows (example has three years of data through 2010):
Country | Year | Units | Revenue | Region |
US | 2008 | 1,000.00 | 1,000.00 | N AMERICA |
Canada | 2008 | 200.00 | 180.00 | N AMERICA |
UK | 2008 | 300.00 | 180.00 | EUROPE |
Spain | 2008 | 350.00 | 262.50 | EUROPE |
Italy | 2008 | 275.00 | 206.25 | EUROPE |
How can I calculate year over year % changes in units and revenues for selected fields? Within the attached, if you filter on "N America", you would see revenues of 1180, 1330 & 1406.9 for 2008-2010 respectively. I would like to calc and show the growth metrics of 12.7% (2008 - 1180 to 2009 - 1330) and 5.8% (2009 - 1330 to 1406.9) for 2009 and 2010.

Thanks Gysbert, exactly what I needed. Of course it's this simple - I appreciate the help!
Sorry for the bother, but just to piggy back off of this question - is there a way to create analyses by utilizing the % growth as the basis? For example (and using the attached) is there a way I could list the top 3 countries that had the largest % revenue growth from 08 to 09? 09-10? Or even 08 to 10?
