How to flag changed/ updated data?

Hi All,

I am in a situation where I have employees master data, columns such as EmpNumber, EffectiveStartDate, EffectiveEndDate, FirstName, LastName, JobTitle, EmployeeType, Salary etc.

We run this report everyday and concatenate all the data and load it in another qvw.

The issue I am facing is, that the customer wants a flag that will help to narrow down only those employees whose data has changed.

sample data below

RowNoEmpNoEffectiveStDtEffectiveEndDtFirstNLastNJobTitleEmployeeTypeSalary
1112/01/1512/01/16RobMService AdvisorEmployee20000
2112/01/1631/12/4712 (oracle date)RobMService ManagerEmployee30000
321/02/1402/02/15MikeEProject ManagerEmployee35000
4202/02/1531/12/4712MikeEProject ManagerEx-Employee35000
5315/02/1431/12/4712CraigMIT ManagerEmployee35000
6315/02/1431/12/4712CraigMIT ManagerEmployee35000

So, if I load above data in qlikview, I want some way to add a flag that points out

  1. changes in rows  2,4
  2. changes in columns Job title, Employee Type, salary.

I am able to add individual flags, but I have more than 70 columns, so this would not be feasible. I am looking for a two in one solution.

What the user wants is if they select effective start date and effective end date, they should be able to see both ther employee numbers 1 and 2 and their changes in Rown num: 2 and 4.

Also, I was looking at Slowly Changing Dimension and Interval Match, but since I only have one big fact table, I dont think I can use this approach, can you please advice me if I am right or wrong here?

Any help here would be great. I am struggling to get this thing sorted.

Thank you in advance.
