How to get Reference Lines in Chart ?

Hi all,

I need help here for creating Reference Line (parallel to x-axis). The expression used is Sum(Sales). The Dimension being used is Month which has values from 1 to 12. But when I am trying to add Expression for Reference line (in Presentation tabà reference line), it is not showing up. Do I have to make x-axis as Continuous ? But after doing it, I am not getting it right and Months are not displaying properly. Do I have to write ab expression for Dimension top make it continuous? Any help is apreciated.

Below is the snapshot of what is needed.

To total across all months in view change the Reference expression to sum(Total Sales)

The reference line will be a long way above your bars though so you may need to adjuct your Y-axis to view it. You may be better off using 'Avg'.

Hope that helps.

Hi Matt,

I have another expression whcih I need to display in the reference line say Planned_Amount. For now, I have given Sum(Planned_Amount) in Reference Expression.

I think I need to make my X-axis continuous for doing the Reference Lines but not very sure how to do it.

Sharma,

From my limited use of Reference Lines you should only need to use the 'Continuous' functionality when adding Reference Lines to the x-axis - ie a reference line at a particular time on a time series for instance like the below showin the start of the working day:
