Hi All,
I have installed the QlikView Server in Windows Server 2003. In that I have created the domain called as QVSERVER. I have installed the qlikview Server in user login who has admin rights. I am able to open the access point page from my system where qlikview server/windows server is installed.
But if I try to open the access point from other system(XP) using the same login which is there in the domain I am not able to open the access point page. It is showing the below error message. Let me know how can I open the access point page with the user login of the same domain.
You need to change "localhost" in the URL to the name of the machine where QVS is installed. Localhost points to the machine itself and since the accesspoint is not on the XP machine but the Win2003 one you need to point the URL to that place.
hi rikab
when you are acessing acess point from different machine the below link will not work for you
http://localhost/qlikview/index.htm
as qlik view server is not installed on your local machine.
In order to acessess qlik view server's acess point
replace local host with server ip address. then it will work for you.
thanks and regards

Hi ASHFAQ,
Thanks a ton! It is working. But if I replace the localhost with the computer name as said by Mr. Johannes Sundén it is not working.Do you have any idea why is that so. If possible can you please try the same there.
Is it possible to open this access point page outside the network. For example, Is it accessible from my home?
Please let me know.
Thanks and Regards,
Rikab Kothari
Hi Rikab
With computer name it must work.
as far as acessing acess point from outside network is conserned.
you must need a public IP please co-ordinate with your network administrator or ISP provider for further details

If it should work with the computer name then why the below link is not working???
http://rikab.QVSERVER.LOCAL/qlikview/index.htm
As you said I will talk to my network administrator/ISP provider for details. Please do let me know...
your computer name is "rikab", the rest is the domain name. Therefore your link should be:

Yes the above link works.
Why rikab.qvserver.local is not working. As per the screen shot the computer name is the same as I given.
Please do reply!
Windows is returning the FULL computer name. which has your domain appended to it. If you look at your second line:
Domain: QVSERVER.LOCAL
