Hi All,
I am new to qlikview. I have prior working experience in ETL tools. I started learning Qlikview few months back.I have completed "Qlikview For Developers" book as well as some courses on Udemy related to Qlikview.
I am looking to learn and work on some qlikview projects for learning purpose.
This forum is good but most of .qvw file provided on this forum, i am not able to open them on my trails version of Qlikview and other most of the question without .qvw file are hebrew for me 🙂 .
Could you guys please suggest some good sources to learn where i would get feeling like working on real projects and challenges.
Thanks!
Hi Shadab,
Using personal edition you can't open .qvw file created by other (need a licence for opening others created qlikview file).
Have you tried with qlikview 11 developer source code (airline sample dashboard with source )
You need to register to get the source code
https://www.packtpub.com/books/content/support
Hope this will helps you.

Dev.
You could download the Microsoft Northwind/Adventureworks sample database and build a dashboard to analyse that as a practice project.
There are mulitple facts in there, along with lots of dimensions (customer, product, employee/salesperson, territory, shipping) etc etc so lots to explore and build on the scripting side and lots of potential to build analytics/dashboards.
Back in the day this was used by Qlik as the certification project so you may even be able to find some examples out there to give you a nudge in the right direction.
I'm not absolutely sure but I believe that the qvw-stuff to other books like QlikView Your Business has also an embedded licence like the demo-applications which are included in your installation.

When you Install Qlik View, you'll get example dashboards on Start Page and also a Sample Data along with it in your Qlik View installed folder
Ex: C:\Program Files\QlikView\Examples\Data
You can test by taking that data.
Thanks.
Hi Dev,
Thanks for the reply.I had actually tried that while going through the book. Most of the example in that book are all the Happy Paths. I am looking for example with problem which are faced by QV developer ....
Hi Dominic,
Thanks for the reply.Adventure work would be good option to start getting dirty with QV. Thanks for this option. However i again feel that it would be all me where i think i may work on something which may not be used in industry very often.
Hi Shahbaz,
Thanks to you too for the reply. Again those example have all the Happy Path.
