How to provide access to document in the access point?

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to check if the user has access to the document or not in the access point?

There are some users they are able to access but some users are not able to access the application in the access point. I check in the server, I have limited access to the server. Under the source documents that application will distribute to some 30 people and the user ID is also listed under it.

Thank You,

Shruthi

The best method to check whether a specific user has access to a particular document in the AccessPoint is by using the Users tab in QMC. You may have wondered what this QMC area is used for all along. Well this is one of the more interesting uses.

Enter the accountname of the troublesome user in the QMC->Users->User Management->Search For User field and click the magnifying glass. If the accountname is correct, it will be found and listed in the box underneath the search field.

Click the user and select the Documents tab. The column "User Document Name" will list all documents to which this user has access in the AccessPoint. The list will take into account whether Section Access grants access and whether a document is distributed to this user at all.

Now select the Distributions tab. Here all tasks are listed that target this user for particular documents to be distributed to. If there are more distributions than documents on the previous tab, then Seciton Access will deny access to all documents that are missing on the Documents tab.

Good luck,

Peter

Hi,

Might be that the apps are authorized only to specific users.

As an example, see this tab on your QMC, if that's the option, add the users you want on the "person" icon.

Hope it helps.
