How to release RAM for QlikView Server?

Currently, the QV server services will stop when reload QV data. And cannot release cached data in RAM for QlikView server.

The QV server has 16GB RAM, and we found that it will cache QV dashboard data in RAM more than 9GB. The used RAM will reach to 15.9 when reload QV data.

The problem is how to release cached QV data in RAM for the QV server? Thanks.

Hi,

The caching is done automatically, how ever there are option available which can help you to define the limit for the RAM.

You need to go to QMC-> System->Steup->QlikView Server-> From right side Panel go to Performance Tab and look for Working Set limit.

For more info on Working limit check link below.

>>...QV dashboard data in RAM more than 9GB.

If the QVW file size is 9GB, then the document will require a lot more than 9GB of RAM to open and it could exceed 16GB. Additional users also increase the RAM (usually about 10% of the initial load RAM).

Also as you use the document, the RAM usage will increase as it requires workspace to build the tables and charts on demand as you browse and interact.
