Hi bbt

Could you please provide some info on this?

To provide some information. we have a QV plugin installed for QV 11.20. This needs to be upgraded to the version of 12.10. ‌

Recap from our previous discussions: the IE plugin is an OCX that is used by Internet Explorer to display QlikView documents in native QlikView format inside your browser. It has nothing to do with the QlikView server.

  • Run the installer on each client machine where the plugin is already available. The new version will replace the old versions.
  • Wherever the person that performs the upgrade can access it. If the laptop/desktop users are to perform the upgrade themselves, put the installer in a network share on the company network. Note: the plugin is already available from the AccessPoint, but in order to upgrade without reconfiguring the AccessPoint (see Bill's explanation), each user will first have to uninstall the plugin.
  • Run the installer. No configuration settings are needed, no questions are asked. Just run the installer.

Hi Peter,

The upgrade will replace the current version and it doesn't have to be uninstalled first.

Also, you can setup the Access Point with the link to the file.

Hi Bill,

yes I am aware of the fact that a new installer will upgrade an old installation without any problem. But it used to be so that an AccessPoint that has not been reconfigured using the technique you described in that other discussion wouldn't even suggest a download link because the plugin (although an older version) was already there. Has that behavior been changed?
