How to use UDF in expression?

How do I use UDF in expression? is there a work around?

e.g. Look at the spell number post (link provided) has a UDF function which translate $$ into words. I need to apply that on Total and thought i can simply use it in expression however I am getting error and research on forum leading me to believe it is not possible. It works fine in load script but I cant get totals precalculated.

any suggestion? please help

There exists a hidden easter egg setting AllowMacroFunctionsInExpressions that allows you to use functions created in the macro editor in expressions. Easter egg menu: Menu --> Help --> About QlikView --> right click on qlik-symbol in bottom left corner
