This seems to happen frequently. I resize a chart (pie chart in this case). I go to CTRL-SHIFT to resize the pie or legend components of the chart and now there is no longer a red box around the pie nor will there ever be again, only a box around the legend. So at point I can no longer resize the pie. Is this by design? If so what controls the behavior? As far as I can tell, all I can do is make sure I save right before, reload the dash and try again.
Did you try pressing the "Reset User Sizing" and "Reset User Docking" buttons on the Chart Properties->General tab (lower left corner)? They should restore the chart layout to its original "default"/initial state.
Best,
Peter
what version is this?
I have to assume maybe you had a very small chart and if you expand it big enough you will see the red box?
Just make sure, your chart should be in activate state.. then try the ctrl+Shift..
I mean you can click the header of the chart..
This is just my idea.. may be you have some other issue..

Hi Peter,
I'm going to guess your suggestion would allow me to move forward without reloading a size, albeit with resetting the whole chart and forcing me to redo any changes. I guess this must be some kind of bug.
Yes most definitely it is active as I do get red boxes, just not around one of the components in the charts.
No this is not the case. If anything it seems to result when the pie gets bigger as a result of resize the chart box (e.g you drag/size horizontally).
