Hi

I am new to this QlikView, can someone tell me, how to write a script ?

I want to write a script, to extract needed data from log files like username, timestamp,file downloaded etc

Hi,

Have you downloaded the Server User Guide PDF? In there it will tell you what logging files you have on your QV server and what each field is.

There are also a few QV documents already designed which are a good starting point, I'll see if I can dig one out which I downloaded as a starting point for my server DB.

But I want to write a script that will extract the required data from log file. I have installed 'Grep for windows' on the server.

Used for file downlaod log monitoring.

do you have access to the log files? can you send one through as an example?
