HowTo set image size in inch or milimeters for background image

Hello,

for the corporate design in our company we have a rule that says: "For the apps, the logo should be 20 mm high." Knowing that this rule is worth nothing in respect to zooming in and out, I tried to manage this for standard zoom and a german A4 paper size print. So first I created a dummy jpg file using GIMP, that was 600 dpi (the logo files I have to use have 600 dpi) and exact 20 mm high.

But when I set this file as a background image in document properties window, I get a much bigger picture. Even if I try printing the worksheet as a german A4 paper size format, the previews shows a picture, that is much bigger than 20 mm high.

So how comes?

How to calculate the size in pixels that is required for i.e. 20 mm high picture in an A4 print?

Any idea or solution?

Regards

Frank
