hello everyone,
There are two buittons I am trying to undersatnd in the IE Plugin. The ne is loch, the other unlock. Seems pretty clear what they do but
I don't see the point to let the user controll this....Anyone know why?
Thx
Ludwig
It isn't that common, but sometimes it makes for easier navegation if you can lock a couple selections while selecting other filters and then when you click clear you can save the time of selecting again the filters you wanted to keep.
It would be the same as selecting a clear state in version 9.

The 'Lock' button is seldom-used in QlikView, but it is actually quite handy for certain situations. In particular, it keeps users from accidentally overriding certain selections. For example, if a user wants to analyze 2010's data, they would click 2010, then 'Lock'. Now, if they were to try and click a value with no data for 2010 - for example, a discontinued product line - QlikView would ignore that selection. Without 'Lock', QlikView would select the product line and clear the '2010' selection, which can be misleading for many users.
The bottom line is that most users don't use the 'Lock'/'Unlock' functionality, but there's no harm in having it up there for those who do.
Ok, make sense.
Thanks so much for the quick response.
