IF notation with { and <

Hi!

Can someone explain me the following term in "if" language?

sum({1<OrderDate={">=$(=addmonths(monthend(max(OrderDate),)+1,-24)) <=$(=addmonths(max(OrderDate),-12))"}>}Sales)

(from this thread:http://community.qlik.com/thread/28725 )

It is not the same as: sum(if(OrderDate>=addmonths(monthend(max(OrderDate))+1,-12) OR OrderDate<=max(OrderDate),Sales))

And what is the meaning of the initial "1"?

Cheers,

Jonas

Hi,

Not "OR", this is an "AND".

I read it as if Orderdate is in the Last Year To Date, then sum the sales.

The "1" tells the expression to use the "1" set, ignoring all other selections in the document.

Stephen
