Identify object type from expression

Is there a way to obtain the chart type from an expression.  I have a combo chart that allows fast change to line chart.  I want to do different things based on chart type.  Is this possible?  I have found GetObjectType, but I prefer to not use a macro.  Is there an expression alternative?

I asked myself the very same question, were you able to do this without macros?

My problem is that setting background color for bars in the chart will also affect pivot table background after fast change,

which I do not want.

Hi Ana!  Unfortunately, I did not find a way to do what I wanted at the time and haven't had the need since.
