I am trying to import an Excel XLSX file of 300.000 rows and 75 columns (100MB) in to QlikView.
However, when I try this I get an Out of virtua and/or logical memory message, allocating 512MB message.
I am using QlikView 10 with Windows XP and 3GB RAM.
From reading the manual and QlikView WEB pages I got the impression QlikView would be able to work with a lot more data than this?
Is this really to much data for my computer? Or is it a QlikView issue?
Compared with Excel, I can run 3 or more of the same file running Excel 2007.
Does any one know what I need to do to be able to import my Excel files to QlikView 10?
Thanks
Hi,
The amount of data which you can load into Qlikview is only restricted by the Size of RAM on your Sytem. How much RAM are you using? I mean your application while it is being loaded?

Syed.
Do you get this error when you a importing just the Excel file or is this Excel file part of a greater data model? Do you have other programs open or how much memory do you have available run QlikView? Do you get this error when running the reload script or when creating a chart?
QlikView compresses duplicate data in each column. 75 columns are quite a few, but 300,000 rows are not that many rows. There should be no problem if QlikView is able to use 2GB of memory and there is no problem in the data model.
Regards.
Thanks for your feedback.
I have been using the wizard, it seams that it is only the wizard that has this memory issue occur. When I load it manually using edit script it works fine.
So I guess the answer is to stay away from the Wizard.
I am fairly new to QlikView my self, but I believe the wizard is new in version 10? Maybe it is not that good yet.
Thanks
Carl
The wizard is new to QV 10. Since I'm not new to QlikView, I haven't used the wizard yet so thanks for the feedback before I promote the use of the wizard with new QlikView users.
Regards.
