Installation of QV PE x64

Hi,

I loaded QlikView Personal Edition v. 9.0 x64 and tried to install it onto my laptop. My laptop is Dell Latitude E6400, 4 GB RAM and Windows Vista 64 bit.

Just after starting the installation:

1) I accept Vista's security question ("A program needs your permission to continue."

2) and start QV installation ("Welcome to the QV Installation Wizard") -> "Next"

3) it gives an error "Installation ended prematurely because of an error." and stops.

I have admin rights on my laptop. I have also closed other Windows applications before trying to install.

I have tried both QV 9.0 Initial Release and SR1. Same error.

Any idea, what is wrong?

Can you check the Widows events logging, if any error should be logged there. Thanks!

Hi,

Windows Event Viewer shows the following in Application log: 2 Information-type entries, source MSInstaller:

- Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: QlikView. Product Version: 9.0.7257.6. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603.

- Product: QlikView -- Installation operation failed.

In other logs there were no entries having the same timestamp. And as a summary: there were no error type entries in any Windows log.
