Is that possible to Include Cyclic Group Name in List of Dimensions table in Adhoc reporting?

Hi Guys,

I am working on Adhoc reporting and have list of dimension which I have included in a INLINE Load table called Dimensions.

Dimensions:

LOAD

*

INLINE [

Dimension

Year

Quarter

Month

Week

Date

];

What I am trying to do is? Create a cyclic Group 'Date Hierarchy' and Include above 5 columns in that group and then include Cyclic group in my dimension table.

Dimensions:

LOAD

*

INLINE [

Dimension

'Date Hierarchy'

];

and use this in chart or table.

This is the condition expression I am using

=SubStringCount('|' & Concat(distinct Dimension, '|') & '|', '|Date Hierarchy|')

but it is not working.

Could you please suggest is this possible or not? If possible what expression I have to write. Kindly modify the above one.

Try removing the quotes around Date Hierarchy in the inline load.

Thanks for posting sample QVW. I checked and found it is working but in my case same is not working. I will share you same qvw soon.

Upon analysis found that Cyclic Group I need to promote it to top in Used Dimensions box then only it is working.

Another issue I observed that that Cyclic Icon is coming for all the dimensions even those are not cyclic. If you know how to fix this please let me know.

I'm afraid I don't understand. Can you post a qlikview document that demonstrates these problems?

Hi Gysbert,

Please find attached QVW file.

On fist Sheet, I have cloned and added a Area chart. If you select any dimension other that cyclic then also we will see the Cyclic Icon in Chart.

On 2nd Sheet also, I have cloned and added a Area chart. I have demoted the Cyclic groups at the end in Dimensions Tab of chart. Now If you try to select cyclic group in field (List box) you will not able to see cyclic Icon in chart.

It is working fine only with Pivot table but It is not the case with other objects.

I hope I have made it clear now.

I can't reproduce this. The cylic group icon is always shown when it should be shown and never when it shouldn't be shown.

Ok, I can reproduce it in QV 11.2 SR9 and earlier. This problem doesn't occur using QV 11.2 SR11. Perhaps you can upgrade to SR11.

So you mean to say It was a bug in QV 11.2 SR9 which has been fixed in SR11?
