Hello All,
I have a pivot table where the fields are conditionally enabled. I have a drill - down group and it doesnt function when I want to drill up. When I remove the conditional enabling of the fields, it works fine. Can anyone tell me what might be the reason. Attached is some random sample file.
Thanks in advance.
I tested your QVW.
I selected an address and then it showed me the city dimension.
When i clicked a year to drill down to quarters, it showed me the quarters with the 1 address and city still showing
Then i hit the up arrow to drill back up to years and it worked.
i'm using 11.2 SR8 64 bit edition to test this. It seems to work per your definition. Perhaps its a bug and a simple upgrade will help or else please clarify if i missed something.

I tried to drill up and it doesn't work for me. I am using 11.2 SR2. If I remove the conditional enabling for all the fileds, I can drill up. Do you think its a bug?
Hi,
Looking at your Data Model,
both tables (Sheet1$ and Sheet1) are not associated or not linked(no relations).
I believe this is why your drill down will not work.
regards,
JP
Here are the 2 important steps i went through to test . First screenshot i already drilled down and already selected an address and city. 2nd screenshot i hit the up arrow circled in red and it drilled back up to years.
This is qv desktop in NON-web mode (default).
Exact version from help->about below also (SR8)
If everything else is the same then YES, please upgrade to SR8 and retest.
Try a listbox object and use your drill down group "YearGroup" as field.
your drill down will work, but this will not affect your Sheet1$ table as there is no association between your two tables.
Thanks for your response! I don't feel that the relation between them is effecting because the expression is just the value of today() function. I guess upgrade would do it. However, it works fine Jonathan Poole.
Thank you. Upgrade did work!
I have a small question. Now my desktop is SR8 and my server is SR6. Will there be any problem?
Hi Reshma - there is a good chance the same problem willl happen when you view the app through the access point because the server engine is being used. To avoid that you would need to upgrade the server too.
I don't always recommend upgrading for 1 specific issue because there is no guarantee you may not end up with another issue for whatever reason.
if you do have other reasons to upgrade though you can add this one to the list and maybe prioritize the upgrade for sooner
Thank you!!
