Hi all,
Can anyone help advise how I can prevent this from happening? If the bar in the front is bigger than the one on the back, you can't see the value label clearly.
Any tips on how to clean this up? I'd like to keep the 3D Bar chart as it looks nice. So I guess I am looking for either options on moving the data value labels to the right a bit so they're on the background... or else changing the font colour or background of the label so they don't get overlapped by the bar. Any tips? So far I have tried modifying the background colour of my expression to make it a bit more transparent so its a bit easier to read --- it helps, but still not ideal.
Alternatively, can I dynamically move my Yes and No to the front/back, depending on which is smaller so the smaller bar is always in the front, just a different colour? That might work, but may look weird.
I realize you like the look of the 3 d charts but in my opinion, if you use some of the other style types, you will get a better overall picture of your data and not have to worry about which bar is in front or back
you can also look into your sort option to ensure the shortest bar is always up front
you can also choose stacked isntead of grouped - it may take too much time trying to always align the exroession result.
You can look into changing the text color of the expression
if you can post your qvw, I can show you some of the other options that may not be quite as fancy as the 3D but get your message across
Hi russell_m,
You can try this style..

Thanks all,
I was able to change the background colour a bit lighter so it isn't too bad...... it's a little disappointing QlikView doesn't offer more customisation on this as otherwise this particular 3D barchart seems a bit useless.
I'm aware there are other ways I can display the data, I just liked this particular chart and was more working on the visual aspects. For now it looks ok, I hope in a future QlikView version there is more flexibility as to where these labels can be positioned or if they can have a background colour on them, or moving the smaller bar to the front so things aren't blocked.
If anyone else can think of any good tweaks to achieve this, feel free to post here, thanks!
