Laptop is switching off while reloading QV files

Hi All,

My laptop shuts down when reloading any QV files. Not every time, but at random times with random QV files. The laptop does not start again, just shuts down.

I am having 4 GB RAM and 64 bit OS & applications size is in 10-20 MB. Using Qlikview 11 SR1.

Hope I ll find the some suggetion,

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your laptop is overheating. This could happen if the processor maxes out on at least 1 core for more than a few minutes.

If that is the case, you could (if you are working with Windows 7) create a power profile that limits the CPU to (say) 75% of max speed. I can't remember the exact procedure I followed and I am not working with that laptop at the moment, so look to google for help. You can also find utilities that will monitor the CPU temperature. The processors automatically shut down at above about 105-110 degC.

In the meantime, try running the load script on batteries (that should run a little cooler).

Hope that helps

Thank you very much Jonathan , I hope this will helpful for us -

I have googled and found below link to create power profile.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-create-or-delete-a-power-plan-scheme

Please confirm this link is correct.

Thanks

This will get you started, but you will need to click on "Advanced" (or something similar) and look for something like max processor speed/load/% to change to something less than 100%. Do this on a new profile, you dont want to always limit the processor speed! As I said, I am not working on that laptop, so I cant me more specific.
