Left/Right similar to Above/Below

Does qlikview have some sort of left/right function that works similar to the above/below function?  Obviously im not referring to the existing LEFT function that takes the left-most characters of a string.  I am referring to some sort of simple function that looks at a metric directly LEFT or RIGHT of the expression in question.  Exactly how above,below currently work...with ability to offset by X number of rows (or in this case, columns)

Probably doesnt exist but figured I would ask.

thanks

I've used the Column function in the past.  However if you add a column prior to the last column, the column numbers after the new column have been changed.

      and

   After()   http://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2019/Subsystems/Client/Content/QV_QlikView/ChartFunctions/I...

i cant get it to simply show the result right or left...

for example, lets say my expression (column) is called X...  and expression Y one column to the right has a value of 500 (as a result of some complex formula), and expression Z TWO columns to the right has a value of 1000

i want to simply input the code =after(X) and have it return a value of 500,

or input =after(X,2) and have it return 1000.... but its not working

am i oversimplifying this?  theres no way to simply tell qlikview to look at hte resulting value 1,2,...x columns to the right or left and paste it in existing column?

It depends on what chart type you are using.  The before and after functions appear to work only in pivot tables.
